KILOMETERS FOR QUITO - LAUNCHES SEPTEMBER 1
If you have been a supporter of AyE for long, you know that Kilometers for Quito (KM4Q) is our second biggest fundraiser of the year behind December year end giving. What do you need to know?
Why are we fundraising?
AyE's annual budget alone only covers about half of their operating expenses, which includes mainly teacher salaries and tuition offsets for students who cannot afford the full cost to attend. Love and Hope Foundation (LHF) raises support to make up the other half of the AyE budget. We love Pancho, Pitty and the whole AyE family, and want to see them thrive! This year our fundraising goal is $80,000 and 8000 kilometers - the distance to Quito and back!
How can I help?
1. Join a KM4Q Team
Anyone can join a team! Parents, friends, family, neighbors - all are invited to join us. You can register at the $25 or $100 level, and everyone receives a cool T-shirt. Once on a team you are encouraged to track your miles/kilometers during September, and log them every few days. Why? There are "milestone donors" who have generously donated funds to kick in once certain target distances are reached...
$2000 when we reach 2000 kilometers
$4000 when we reach 4000 kilometers
$6000 when we reach 6000 kilometers
$8000 when we reach 8000 kilometers
We are thrilled to have this "extra" $20,000 in donations available once the teams cumulatively reach these distance targets!
It is not necessary, but once on a team, you can ask for additional support from friends and family - many will applaud your heart and efforts and will want to financially give to a cause close to your heart. As a team member, you will receive a fundraising page that makes everything easy, including a handy FAQ that answers many of the most common questions.
The 2024 KM4Q teams are…
Kids in Motion - West Georgia team of super special people of all ages and stages
Trinity Youth - Returning team from Trinity Anglican
College/Alumni - Whitefield Ecuador Mission Team reunited
Whitefield Lower School - Our youngest first time team
Whitefield Middle School - The team to watch
Whitefield Upper School - Boys and girls united this year
2. Pray
Whether you decide to join a team or not, the most important contribution you can make is to support this fundraiser and this mission through prayer. KM4Q has a weekly prayer focus imbedded in the home page of the KM4Q site that you are encouraged to read and pray through in September as you are able. We start off the month in praise and thanksgiving for all the Lord has done at AyE - completing the third floor, bringing in more students and staff, reaching the hearts of the construction staff so they came to know Jesus - praise God!
3. Donate
Any and all financial support is welcome, especially in September! If you do not want to join a team, you may donate to KM4Q in general on the main event page, here!
4. Spread the word
As always, we ask you to share the good news of all that is happening in Carmen Bajo! Let people know about AyE and if you have been blessed to visit, let them know how the trip impacted you. Ask them to support a cause close to your heart and see what Jesus can do!

ZOLA FAMILY VISIT RECAP
What an incredible, busy, joyful ten days were had while Pancho, Pitty and Maria Victoria visited Atlanta! They had a full schedule connecting with current and potential donors, serving the homeless in downtown Atlanta, among others, and ministering to everyone with whom they came in contact. To say the Lord was working through them is an understatement!
Please enjoy a few photos below, which are just a small snapshot of how many people were touched during this visit. Pancho and Pitty shared with several area churches, including Full Turn Church, Trinity Anglican, Restoring the Years and River Rock Church, as well as a few schools, including the FCA at Lithia Springs High School, Whitefield Academy, Mount Paran Christian School and Eastside Christian School.
On Saturday they served together with the Whitefield Academy community at the school's annual Great Day of Service, where they had the opportunity to speak and pray over an audience of 600+ people at the kickoff gathering. Then they were eager to walk the streets of downtown Atlanta, speaking to many homeless men and women, and inviting them back to SafeHouse Outreach for a cookout. Finally, they rounded out their time with an in person LHF board meeting, which was special for the board and for the Zolas. In between all of these engagements, Pancho and Pitty found time to connect with old friends in the area and enjoy their time.
We thank the Lord for his provision during this trip, and for the Zola family's energy and good health. Our prayer is that they will have a wonderful time together as a family of five on vacation after Atlanta, relaxing and being restored and prepared for the new school year ahead!
How can you partner with Amor y Esperanza?
