January 2024 Update

Happy New Year! This month we want to celebrate how God provided for our needs in December during our Year End Campaign. Once again, God went above and beyond - through YOU our generous donors - to make a way for the mission of Amor y Esperanza to continue to grow and thrive. Thank you!

With hearts full of gratitude, we are excited to share that we surpassed our Year End Goal of raising $70,000 during December! In total, we received $82,444! What a tremendous blessing it has been to boldly declare this specific need, which seemed so large, then watch as generosity reigned. You will recall this goal was to cover the cost of running Amor y Esperanza through the end of the summer. Thank you for hearing the call and taking action to help! 

In addition, we are thrilled to share that construction has already begun on the third floor of the Amor y Esperanza school building! To be clear, the funds discussed above did not go toward the building in any way, but nonetheless certain generous supporters have given dedicated gifts so that AyE can go ahead and expand their space upward. The school remains at maximum capacity with many students turned away at the beginning of the school year. The addition of the third floor will greatly increase AyE's ability to serve more students with additional classrooms.   

The photo included here shows some of the materials that have already been delivered to the school for the third floor frame to go up! Other images included in this newsletter are from a trip to Quito taken during Thanksgiving week by board member, David McCune, along with his family and friend, Brad Mauldin, with his family. During this time they were able to do a bit of tourism in the area led by the Zola family, then they spent four days teaching in the classrooms and connecting with students after school. The AyE students absolutely LOVE having visitors from the United States!
