March 2024 Update
¡Feliz Marzo Familia! Happy March Family! This month we want to invite you to become a sustainable supporter through our Evergreen Initiative, update you on the exciting and speedy progress of the 3rd floor, and give you a snapshot into the joyful community that is Amor y Esperanza.
EVERGREEN INITIATIVE
Sustainable givers are the bedrock of nonprofit viability. THANK YOU to our partners who support us on a monthly basis. During dry seasons, especially summer months, you allow Amor y Esperanza to remain “Evergreen”, ie, confident in the availability of resources to continue the mission of transforming lives and communities for Christ, through academic excellence, nutritional support, and spiritual guidance.
3rd FLOOR PROGRESS
The LORD is good! I and fellow board members are continually amazed at the rate of progress achieved in such a short time. “Pancho and Pitty get things done!” is a phrase I’ve found myself using often these days when showing photos of the work completed in just two months to the 3rd floor. To our supporters, these are your gifts at work! In the photos you will see a roof now covering half the third floor. By the time you receive this message we expect the entire floor to be under roof in addition to the completion of interior walls defining rooms. You will also see photos of the elevator shaft, another result of year-end gifts made to the school. Thank you LORD and thank you supporters!
A JOYFUL COMMUNITY
Amor y Esperanza is a community that will leave a mark on you in the best way. Each time I visit I am infused with a joy that can only be attributed to the Holy Spirit. This joy extends from the leadership of the Zola family, to the incredible teachers, to the faithful staff, and of course to the 300+ delightful students that fill its walls. We pray you experience joy today seeing these photos of kids who have opportunities like these because of the generosity of folks like you.
“Today we had an amazing day, lots of fun at the school. We had very fun Carnival activities; the Lord blessed us and surprised us with an amazing day with the perfect weather to get wet!”
Last month Love and Hope board president Lee Martin (right) had the opportunity to visit Amor y Esperanza with his father in law. Lee sent many of the photos of building progress and reports being greatly encouraged: “Amazing to see how the Holy Spirit is moving here!”.
Many of us are in the season of lent, following Jesus's journey to the cross. Here is an old, simple, and beautiful prayer for the 3rd week, one I am praying with Amor y Esperanza in mind.
Eternal God, give us insight to discern your will for us, to give up what harms us, and to seek the perfection we are promised in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
